1. Amazon is soon launching NFT initiative
An NFT initiative is expected for the spring from Amazon, which is launching a digital assets enterprise. Amazon has been courting major players in the market with its digital collectibles push.
Layer-1 blockchains, blockchain-based game businesses and developers, and digital asset exchanges are reportedly included among those entities.
2. Google Chrome rolls out ‘Lock Incognito’ feature on Android
Your Chrome Incognito sessions can now be locked behind biometric authentication thanks to a feature that Google is now rolling out.
You can open Incognito tabs normally, but if you switch to another app, you’ll need to unlock Chrome when you come back in order to access the hidden tabs.
3. Stripe plans to go public within 12 months
John and Patrick Collison, Stripe’s co-founders, informed staff that they would like to either go public or allow employees to sell stock through a secondary offering.
Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan have been retained by Stripe to provide deal advice as it considers a direct listing or private market transaction.
4. Layoffs: EY to sack 380 employees, cut 40 partners
Following its inability to uncover possible fraud at Wirecard AG, the electronic payments company that went out of business in 2020, EY has announced measures to reduce staff and cut expenses in Germany.
EY Germany’s management board has chosen to implement a number of structural adjustments with co-determination.
5. iPhone shipments decline 14.9% in Q4 2022
The largest drop in smartphone shipments in a single quarter was witnessed in the last quarter of last year, and the total number for the year was the lowest since 2013.
During the holiday quarter in 2022, iPhone shipments decreased 14.9% year over year, and shipments overall decreased by 4%.
6. Amazon Workers Reveal Shocking Treatment Over Toilet Breaks

Workers report being constantly monitored and reprimanded for taking a few minutes for toilet breaks.
7. BuzzFeed to implement AI tools from OpenAI to personalize its content
BuzzFeed will launch AI-inspired content on its site which will enhance the quiz experience and personalise content for the audience.
BuzzFeed CEO said, “our industry will expand beyond AI-powered curation (feeds), to AI-powered creation (content). AI opens up a new era of creativity, where creative humans like us play a key role in providing the ideas.”
